The science of Clinical Nutrition was officially established in 1990, however, it began in the mid-1980s. Other titles for this profession are Orthomolecular Medicine and more recently, Medical Nutrition and Functional Medicine, due to medical, chiropractor, and other professionals are recommending vitamin and mineral supplements. However, the foundational science is Clinical Nutrition and the most knowledgeable and trained are the C.C.N.’s. Many of these professionals, even some C.C.N.s are recommending “Nutritional Drugs.” (See my article above on “Taking Vitamins or Nutritional Drugs!”) So, beware of Nutritional Drugs!
