INTRODUCTION
A Stressor is the term used to describe various factors and/or substances that stress the metabolism and internal biological processes of the human mind and body. Stressors deplete the body of both macro- nutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fats/oils) and micro-nutrients (vitamins, minerals, water), interrupt the neurological and circulatory flow of nerves and blood, respectively, and poison body systems.
There are four types of Stressors, the Nutritional/Chemical Stressors; the Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Stressors; the Physical or Structural Stressors, and the Electro-Magnetic Fields (EMF) Stressors.
Nutritional/Chemical
Stressors
Nutritional relates to vitamin, minerals, amino acids,
enzymes, proteins, carbohydrates, and other nutrients which are
insufficient, deficient or excesses in the body and, thereby, adversely
affects the chemistry of the human mind and body (biochemistry). Chemicals
include exposures to toxic chemicals, metals or some other toxic
exposure. Nutritional/Chemical Stressors also include vitamin and
mineral depletion which results from long-term drugs/medicine intake, poor diet, taking the wrong vitamin supplements or
engaging in a repetitive physical activity, such as overactive wrist
movement ,that depleted the nutrients of the wrist and leads to Carpal
Tunnel.
Mental,
Emotional and Spiritual (MES) Stressors
Difficult Co-Workers or Job Duties,
lack or restless sleep and long-term work hours (such as the long
hours of the business person, truck driver, medical professional,
etc.). Community Service Occupations, such as policemen, firemen,
ambulance drivers, etc., spike their adrenals with every crisis. This
up and down of adrenal hormone release, multiple times in a day, over
time adversely affects the entire endocrine function. This then leads
to fatigue - mentally and physically, mood swings, immune dysfunction,
loss of libido and a myriad of other health challenges as health
breakdown process occurs.
Not only do people experience mental, emotional and spiritual stressors in the workplace as a direct result of the job requirements and duties, work and home relationship dynamics with verbal abuse, violent or unkind tempers, bad manners, lack of empathy and forgiveness, etc., are also examples of MES stressors. Additionally, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, affecting brain function and hormone imbalance causing violent or irritable behaviors, depression, mood swings, anxiety, panic attacks, etc., also, are also mental, emotional and spiritual stressors.
Physical/Structural
Stressors
Physical and Structural Stressors, such as a sprain or injury to the muscles and back from hard
physical labor or on the job accidents and injury. This also includes
supporting the body nutritionally any time there is a need for physical
therapy or chiropractic treatment. When an area of the body is
already suffering with vitamin and minerals deficiencies, the tissue
and muscles these nutrients are supporting becomes weak. This then
increases the possibilities of and eventually leads to injury and/or
degeneration of the physical structure of the human body.
Without a
Clinical Nutrition Therapeutic Program to correct this, physical
therapy, chiropractic, massage therapy exercises, manipulations and
adjustments will not hold. Here is a test. If you are improved, but
still suffering, after seven straight weeks of physical therapy,
chiropractic adjustments, and/or massage therapy, you do not have
sufficient nutrition in these areas of the body to hold the benefits of
these therapies and adjustments, much less for your body to heal
itself. You must be tested for and correct your nutritional
deficiencies in these areas to obtain optimum healing. By adding a
Clinical Nutrition Program while engaging in any other type of
therapy, you will enhance the effectiveness of that therapy, and speed
the recovery and healing process and vice versa.
Electro-Magnetic
Field (EMF) Stressors
Electro-Magnetic Field Stressors are non-human electrical fields that adversely
affect the human body, such as the electrical exposure from wearing
cell phones, long hours at computers or television, florescent
lighting, working near electrical power plants, etc. Our homes and
offices are inundated by electrical frequencies from air conditioning,
refrigerators, micro-waves, radios, television and all other
electrical appliances and machines. These electrical currents
interfere with the human body's electrical system and deplete
nutritional stores, interfere with human biochemistry, and then cause
illness and disease. In addition to assisting our clients in healing
their body from the adverse affects of long-term EMF exposure, we also
coach them on what they need to do to deflect ongoing EMF exposure.
Electrical frequencies, chemical or metal substances enter the body through its openings, i.e., ears, nose, eyes, mouth or skin.
